Uh so everyone got their hero points distributed from last issue because we had two exciting uses of uh of your principles, yeah, and that worked out really well. Uh worked out phenomenally in one case. Yeah.

So uh so Ashley, go ahead and take it away. Okay, so whoever they got to do this isn't around, I guess. I gotta do it, or whatever. Uh so like we've been living in this jungle for the past five years, or I should say that like my friends have been living, and I've been dead for most of it. But uh, they're like these like dinosaurs and animal guys, and they keep harassing us all the time or whatever. But I saw them kind of like teaming up to abduct this old lady, and now it looks like they're teaming up like for real to like are on our way to like kill us and stuff. Um, but I guess it's gonna be okay because like there's these like two idiots we know, Whiskey Sour and Penelope Chance, and they they found some other people with superpowers, and they're gonna help, I guess. I don't know. I mean they got this one girl and she's pretty cool, I guess. Uh anyway, we were all kind of doing our part to prepare for the big battle, and then one of them, this like weird melty alien one, uh, they ran off and they haven't come back yet, but then we heard some kind of big commotion or something. I don't know what that's about. Okay, um am I done here? I gotta go help and hope some of my friends turn into ghosts too when this is all done.

Uh, so when we last left off, the last few panels of the pages of this comic were uh Pluto just dropping down and assassinating Jungle Jim and turning him into meatloaf.

Uh so you you uh are standing uh in the middle of all of this, uh Jungle Jim's blood splattered all over you. There are bits of viscera and uh copious internal organs. You basically did a mortal combat fatality on him. Um and T-Rex has just issued the command, get 'em, boys. Uh so we open this issue uh with Pluto uh in the midst of uh about to be attacked by, we're gonna say fifteen beast men.

Oh, that's too many beastmen.

Now, Pluto, you have a few options in this situation here.

Um you can either try to fight them off if you would if you want, uh, or you can get the fuck out of there and try to get back to the camp.

So as we established before Pluto saw the opportunity to do an assassination, they're pretty wary about taking on large numbers of groups of enemies like as a single person because they have an intuitive understanding of how the mechanics of the game work.

Um, so they are going to try to get the fuck out of there.

Um, I think the first thing Pluto is going to do is they are going to I think the first thing is like a there's like a they try to just do a like a disorienting flashbang. Right? Okay. Um this is going to be uh I'm using nuclear because they're using their their normal energy power. Like they're literally doing a nuclear flash, uh ranged combat and their status dice. Uh so it's gonna be a 10, an eight, and a twelve.

Yeah, so the scampering is going to be their uh second uh overcome as they attempt as they like just very quickly just try to leap out of there like a like a flea or a frog or something. Uh so there's going to be uh we'll call it leaping alertness and status dice, if that makes sense.

Yeah, sure. You are you are uh definitely alert, more alert than the others right now who are who are trying to get their vision back.

Pluto's going to briefly stop escaping and make an attempt to scare the other ones off from following them. Uh with like an intimidating roar stancing up and all that.

Uh so this is going to be presents, Kaketish Conqueror, and Satus dice for a 10-8-12. So 10-8-12. My middle there is a five.

Okay, you are clean then. So you you explode in a burst of light. There are 10 that were that managed to get their vision back in time to give chase, but then you just you do like a 12-foot vertical leap into the trees, and like a bunch of like Jaguar and Wolfmen are like, I ain't fucking making that one.

Yeah. And they roar intimidatingly at the ones who actually manage to get up there with them and then skew them off.

So the ones, the ones that uh that that chase that continue pursuing, Pluto just makes themselves big. And because these animals are uh because these these beast men are uh in an open area and not cornered, uh their instincts take over and they decide to disengage.

Because, you know, they are they are uh they are not in immediate danger. And the thing in front of them is larger than them.

And then very quickly, Pluto uh kind of does the Naruto Ninja Leap thing through the tree branches back towards home.

We So we we cut back to to the camp where uh the still protected by by the barrier that Ryo set up. Uh it's kind of still glowing and illuminating. Uh there's a bunch of like archers and gunmen kind of uh on the the walkways above the uh where where the the walls are, um kind of preparing for the for the assault. They've they've seen they've obviously heard the stomping of both armies coming towards them. They can see the rustling in the in the treetops and whatnot. They see it stop and then they don't hear anything for a long time, and then they hear a lot of things. And as people are kind of like, as everyone around you two is kind of like mingling around and like trying to, you know, murmuring like what's going on here, uh, Ava flutters down uh from where she was protecting the uh the um like the children that are still like the younger folk that are that have been kind of holed up in the uh visitor center is for protection, like deep in the middle of the of the campground. Uh she floats in and goes, Hey, is Pluto back yet?

Um I think there's like a moment where Rio kind of like looks around the crowd and goes, Oh no. Uh-oh.

Uh Pluto, do you want to describe how you burst into the scene?

Yeah, so from the trees, uh there's this uh sudden uh leaping approach of as I described last time, something that looks like if a death claw was made out of mercury and also a bug. Uh it lands, it is very visibly covered in blood in like the face, torso, and hands. And then it just sort of uh in the space of a panel, uh turns back into a relatively normal Pluto shape.

In in the panel where you land, there is a beat panel where you hear like 12 guns cocking.

And then it turns back into Pluto.

And Pluto still covered in blood, uh just uh smiling goes, I got one.

Yeah, no, I think uh at this point, Ryo uh has closed the gap from where she was standing to where Pluto is currently standing and is just like what is Okay, so what happened?

Well, I saw one of the one of the one of the big ones and I got him.

Uh Irene Irene is is there too, like making sure all of you get inside the the the walls before the she they close the gate again.

Uh-huh. And so Pluto's just being shut down. It's like, well, well there is a there is a guy and they had him on a big platform and he looked uh you know like he looked important and I uh ex I I I I uh and then uh Pluto makes their hand turn to like really big death claw hand and just presses it down and then he wasn't around anymore.

You know, he had like like uh hoofed legs and he had like a snake hand, like the snake hand like that big snake guy. Uh he had he had a lot a lot of different animal parts going on. He seemed kind of important, so I killed him.

Uh Whiskey and Penelope appear in panel so quickly that Irene is thrown to the ground.

And they both go simultaneously go, You killed Jungle Jim. Yeah. And they both fall to their knees and go, oh no, I wanted to do that.

I think Jungle Jim was their nemesis kind of guy, so they had that sort of rivalry going on.

Uh Penelope kind of perks up for a bit. He's like, wait a minute, darling, maybe he's not dead. We thought we've killed him before, but he's managed to slip away every time. You're sure he's dead. Are you are you 100% positive he's dead?

Oh yeah, I he's he's in like a hundred pieces.

Pluto pantomimes the way they killed him again. It's just like he sort of went all over the place.

Just just a Mario RPG style recreation where Pluto turns into and like morphs into Jungle Gym and then splat.

Yeah, makes it makes a like a very crude like puppet of Jungle Gym with one of their hands and then takes their other hand and just does the uh you know that thing they do for the animation studios when they're like trying to deform terrain so they like cut up a thing and like splay it out.

Okay, alright, good. We can use that intimidation factor. Uh and then as they as you know, they kind of unwind and she Irene like has like a uh lift in her step now. Like one of the big two is gone. This is great, they might actually pull this off. Um that kind of that optimism kind of f quickly fades away because uh the brush clears and T-Rex, now at the front of the of the army, does charge in to the parking lot, and he is surrounded by more people than than Pluto saw. Uh they were too quick to get out there, they didn't see exactly just how big this army is. There's a lot. Uh where is everyone in preparation for this?

Um okay, cool. So yeah, so there there are there are besides the two of you, there are more people, there are definitely more people on the inside of the wall than there are on the outside. Like I said last time, these are not super powered people. There's very few people with actual powers in here, and much fewer that can do something good in a fight.

Um you'd see uh that so there are a few out here uh besides just a couple of really brave normal people that have uh a spear or some kind of sword or some kind of weapon they have. So the way this battle is going to work, we're going to introduce a couple of new mechanics into this. Uh T-Rex has a lot more guys than you. And these guys and and they are not really concerned with um they're not the kind of leadership that's concerned with uh troop preservation.

You know, uh enough bodies can take care of any threat. And if the threat is gone, then you win, no matter how many died to do it.

So you're gonna be fighting a a squad of of T Rex is gonna be there, obviously, in this fight. You're going to have Squad of six minions and one lieutenant. Every time you kill a minion or lieutenant, they will be immediately replaced with another of their kind.

You have uh thirty-six yeah, or no, forty-two minions to kill. They're all sixes, don't worry about it. But you're only gonna have six on the field at a time.

You can recruit some of those extra soldiers. Don't forget, you also have Penelope and Whiskey and Ava. And maybe some other guys if the environment rolls well.

Uh, I have a spreadsheet to keep track of all the participants in this battle. There is one other thing I need to know. Like I said, if you once you kill one, they will be replaced with another of that kind. If you kill one before you decide it's that their turn, they lose that turn. It's like if you kill one of the so one of the beastmen you'll fight is a beastman uh mammalian type. If you eliminate him and he gets replaced with a with another beastman mammal type, and he didn't go yet, he doesn't get to go.

Tell me more. Pluto, the thing I want to do, and I don't know that either of my principles would really be appropriate for this, but I'll think about it. Pluto wants to scare the the cannon fodder into running away. Because they did drop down and assassinate their leader for however many of them were following that guy and non-screen.

And I think this has the obvious limitation of like, I only get the one shot, and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. If it does work, it's not gonna do anything extra, you know.

It's a lot of of lean twos and uh like big leafy uh or big like wide leaves stacked on top of a couple sticks that are propped up. Um this is about as prehistoric as you can get, and you know, very fittingly, it's a bunch of dinosaurs, but they are intelligent enough to use some kind of tool. Um it leads you into here, and so the the the I guess you could consider them civilians. They're not they're not combatants. Uh this is technically the first one to report back from the battle. Uh just make a real quick roll.
